BOYCOTT EXPEDIA!  I just experienced first hand that they are falsely advertising their services. In May I made a reservation thru them for a 3 night stay at a Travelodge in Bedford for Aug 23-26.  Yesterday when I checked out I found that the total they charged my credit card and the amount shown on the receipt was completely different.  The motel receipt was  $47.94 LESS!  When I called Expedia they first said that the motel must have given me the wrong receipt.  Then they said that they buy blocks of rooms to "sell" on Expedia.  They said that what was shown on the receipt was what they paid for the room and what I paid was their charge to me. I can't believe that explanation!  What it really means is Expedia marked up the cost of the room 26.5%!  Then they refused to give me a refund when the true cost of the room was revealed!  So much for their claim on their website!

I can understand that they have to make some profit, but since I have the receipt in  my hand to prove what the room really cost, I feel they are misrepresenting their services.  From now on I will be dealing with the motels/hotels directly in the future!
